Questions & Answers for Clarisonic Clarisonic Classic

Question
Can the clarisonic be used with proactiv?

answer 1
The package insert says not to use a gritty cleanser with it, and Proactiv is pretty gritty. I use Proactiv in the shower in the morning and the Clarisonic at night, since Proactiv and ruin your sheets anyway! I have only been using the Clarisonic for 2 weeks, but I am already needing the Proactiv less and less! Hope this helps.

Sure! It is recommended that abrasive cleansers not be used in conjunction with the Clarisonic but you should be fine with Proactiv

Can the classic work on the body as well as the face?

The Classic may work on the body, but I don't think I would use the same brush head as the other reviewer stated. I would purchase a separate brush head for body use and wash it after use. Definitely more hygienic!!

answer 2
Of course! Even though the Classic model does not have the fancy body attachment like some of the higher, more expensive models I use my Classic model to exfoliate the body (however I have very sensitive skin and I think the body brush would be much too rough for my skin) After using it on the body I would wash the brush head in warm soapy water before using it again on the face

Do I still need to exfoliate weekly when I use the Clairisonic every day?

You don't really need to, but I do use an exfoliant every now and then, but I only have time to use the Clarisonic once a day. If you use it twice a day you probably don't need to.

answer 2
I haven't seen the need to. I've used my Clarisonic for two weeks now and my skin hasn't once felt the need for exfoliation. In fact it feels freshly exfoliated every time I use it.
There are days I use the higher setting for when my skin feels a little more funky, but other than that the exfoliants have stayed tucked away in the closet.

answer 3
I have found that I do not need to exfoliate weekly because I use the Clarisonic twice daily. When I first got my Clarisonic I used it everyday and also exfoliated every week but I found that did more harm than good to my ultra sensitive skin so I would recommend skipping weekly exfoliation when using the Clarisonic everyday

Yes, I think you are suppose to hold down the button till you hear a long beep, it explains it in the instruction guide.

answer 2
If you want it to use it longer than one minute, all you have to do is press the button again or I believe you can (I haven't done this), but you can set it to stay on for longer (two minutes), but at some point you are going to have to press the button again to re-start it. It cannot be set to stay on continuously.

Question
When I use my Claisonic, I get swelling and redness under my eyebrows - why?
Also itches - trying to stay far away from my eyes, but when I use it on my forehead or nose - that's what happens! HELP! (I'm using a Normal brush head and gentle cleanser that I've always used...)

I just moved from Colorado, they do sell the brushes for sensitive skin. Ask for assistance from a Dillards, Sephora, Ulta or Macys. They should be able to assist you.

answer 2
Try using the gentle or sensitive brush head and make sure you are not pressing too hard. Are you sure it is not the cleanser or your eye make up? If you are not using the brush anywhere around your eyes the swelling cannot be caused from the brush. If that was the case any kind of cleansing technique would cause irritation. Have you switched to any new make up or cleanser???

try the sensitive or delicate brush head. Also don't press too firmly against the skin, let the brush do the work. You can also pop the center of the brush head out from the outer ring(it pops back in) good for getting the nose are. Hope this helps!

Go back to the place that sold it to you, most of the time, Dillards, Macys and Ulta can assist you in lessons on your usage. I just moved from Colorado and I had to obtain assistance at one point as well.

answer 2
Some people do report breaking out when they first start using the Clarisonic. Typically the reason is due to the fact that the Clarisonic is cleaning the skin so well, it is bringing dirt and oil which has been trapped below the skin surface, up to the surface. This should only last 4 weeks at the very most. You may want to try a delicate brush head. It is gentler on the skin and many people have seen improvement when using this brush head instead.

After using mine for about two weeks I did see that my skin seemed to get worse before it got better. A lot of online forums said the same thing but no one actually had an answer.
Mine did get bad, and then it got better. Something about skin purging, getting all the deep down junk out.
I've been using mine over two months now and haven't had any problems since.

They have cleansing products and moisturizers should always be used after cleansing or you may end of with a dryness issue, if you just use the cleanser.

I use my own moisturizer that I've used for years in conjunction with the Clarisonic cleanser, and I find that it works great! I don't think that you need to use their cleansers to see the results, the magic is in the Clarisonic itself...and let me tell you..it's Magic!

You can keep using your "old" moisterizer. One of the benefits of the Clarisonic is that it will make your moisterizer even more effective! Gotta love Clarisonic!

Great question. I too was quite concerned. I recently had a major breakout, and my face was worse than ever. I feared what this might do. Well I can only tell you my experience. In the first few days, I had no irritation at all. By day 4, I noticed some areas broke out more, but after 1 full week, those areas started to disappear. Going into my second week, my face was clearing like I'd never seen before, and I've used every acne treatment out there. I highly recommend this....btw, I have seriously sensitive skin....and this worked for me. (Silky, smooth, baby soft skin)

That probably depends on how severe your acne is. This is a question that a dermatologist can answer for you. If you have raised or facial cystic acne, I wouldn't advise it, however, to be sure you should consult a dermatologist.

Hey, there's no shame in your game and that's a good thing! Men need clean skin too, especially if you shave (hair has so much bacteria and it gets right into your pores when you shave). Besides whatever products you use on your face will absorb better and be more effective because of the Clarisonic.

He has made comments about how great his skin feels and looks....He remarks how much closer his shaves are after his facial... No more irritation and beard related pimples...
