Questions & Answers for Clarisonic Clarisonic Mia

Question
I'm experiencing charging and power issues.
About two weeks ago, after a brushhead change, my Mia started to have charging issues. It would charge only intermittently and pulse every 5-10 seconds after on the charger for 2-3 minutes. It now does not charge at all.
Along with this, it would only turn on sometimes, and stay on for lengths of only 5-25 seconds.
I believe the unit is only 6-8 months old, I don't have a receipt, but a credit card statement is available (bought thru retailer- not clarisonic).
Can this be fixed? What options do I have?

We have gone through three Clarisonics in 4 months due to similar issues. It won't charge or start working again. Our first would switch on by itself in the night and couldn't be turned off.
The only thing I can suggest is that you take it back to the store and get an exchange. KEEP THE RECEIPT so when the next one fails you can get a refund. If the store won't help then contact Clarisonic adn explain the issues. You won't be the first to send a faulty one back.
Good luck

All of the brushes work on the Mia aside from the Body brush. The classic has 2 speeds and the Plus has 3 plus the body mode.

The face brush heads will work with the Mia. Not the spot therapy (body brush) though. The classic has 2 settings i believe and the plus has 4 speed setting.

Yes, it is timed to provide optimum cleansing - you need to remember to use it in circular motions across the few sectors of your face.

Question
Is the Mia a good alternative to scrubs & exfoliators?
I've always had difficulty finding a good exfoliator for my face. They don't do anything noticeably good or bad for my skin. It's as if they don't do anything for my skin. Would the Clarisonic make a good exfoliator for the face? P.S. I don't have one as of right now, but am interested.

I've tried dozens of facial scrubs over the course of the last 4 months in an effort to combat a sudden outbreak of blackheads and NONE of them have worked as well as the Clarisonic Mia and my usual, gentle cleanser. It's as though the Mia vibrates the schmutz right out of the pores. The Clarisonic is gentle yet effective at loosening debris, including dead skin cells. I have noticed a greater brightness to my skin with much less redness as well as smaller pores and far fewer pimples and blackheads. For me, the Mia has done more exfoliating than any scrub I have ever tried. I recommend you go for it!

I have the Mia, am an esthetician, and have had the same problem as you. I find that using an exfoliator with my Clarisonic has the best result. If you've tried what are supposed to be great exfoliators/scrubs and they did nothing, try them again using this. I use philosophy's microdelivery wash religiously, but have used all sorts of brands, from inexpensive drug-store brands to expensive, specialty brands, and they all work better with the Clarisonic.

Essentially, you're going to see better results because the sonic "pulsing" is opening up your pores, not only helping to rid your skin of the debris that constantly builds up, preventing great exfoliators from really working how they should, but by also letting products get into your skin and work the way they were intended.

I hope you give the Mia a shot...you won't be disappointed.

Some recommendations:
philosophy's microdelivery wash (once a day)
Origin's Modern Friction (once a week)
anything Clean & Clear or Neutrogena, depending on what your skin needs are

For reference: I have oily, sensitive skin

Hi Sammy, Clarisonic developed the sonic technology proven to gently yet effectively loosen dirt and oil to clear your pores. The Sonic Skin Cleansing System uses more than 300 movements per second to clean, soften and smooth your skin. The micro-massage action cleans more than twice as effectively as manual cleansing. We do not compare it to microdermabrasion but the cleansing of the skin is similar when used regularly.

The Mia only has a green light that can be seen through the plastic. On other types, the flashing amber/green light means the unit needs charging.

Yes, but we recommend you use the Normal brush head on those areas other than your face. Do not use the same brush head for face and body,

Question
What is the benefit to the higher speeds on the Classic & Plus?
I'm inclined to purchase the Mia - opposed to the Classic or the Plus - because of limited space in my bathroom. However, I'd like to know the benefit of the additional speeds on the Classic & Plus. Would the higher speeds do ok with sensitive skin?

Well, there isn't that much of a difference on size wise, so the space shouldnt be an issue. I have the plus and the mia. I use the plus for home and i take the mia to go. The benifits of the mia are that it's really easy to take with you. The benifits of the plus is that it goes a lot deeper than the mia, therefor, cleans more intensly. Also, I don't think the fact of you having sensitive skin should matter, because of the different speeds and the different brushes it offers. I hope this helped!

Whichever you decide, the brushhead for sensitive skin is not rough at all. It is so soft I would use it on a child.

Thank you for your question. You can charge the Clarisonic only when needed, or you can leave it in the charger base at all times. It has a low memory so most people find leaving it in the charger all the times has the best results.

Question
Does this product make you break out more ?
I've been using it for over a week and my acne has been breaking out more. I was just hoping that it's normal, but after reading some great reviews about it, I'm scared it's giving me a weird reaction. I'm 16 and in need of help.

Hi,
Breakouts are perfectly normal when starting out with the product. The first four weeks it will be getting rid of extra oil, dirt, makeup etc . Start out just using once a day for the first month while your skin is adjusting. After the first month you should start seeing improvement. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions you can call us at 888-525-2747 we are open Mon-Fri 6am-5pm pacific time.

Warm Regards

I'm not a Clarisonic expert I just own one and love it but I am a professional make up artist and I would not recommend doing that. The skin around your eyes is the thinnest skin on our bodies so you really need to be gentle with it plus the circulation of the device is so fast it might be a bit hard on your eyelashes.

I think you can not. Because you have to avoid the eyes... Also use a make up remover before you clean your face with the clarisonic i think that way your brush will not get all dirty so quick.
