I charge my Five (5) Mia's only when the charge is completely drained / depleted, which is the way I charge ALL my re-chargeable batteries. If you charge them more often (when they still have power in them) the battery loses it's memory and it will continue to accept less of a charge & you will slowly get less than 20 uses between charges. I plan on having these for quite some time & Clarisonic does NOT Warranty / Guarantee the battery inside the units. Unsure why they state it's ok to keep them charging all the time, makes no sense to me since ALL RE-CHARGEABLES have a certain lifespan of charges and you're shortening the lifespan that much faster so you'll need to buy a new Clarisonic unit that much sooner. Great for Clarisonic, not so great for the Consumer.

I believe it will hold a charge for two weeks. You definitely don't need to do it nightly.

Thank you for your question. You can charge the Clarisonic only when needed, or you can leave it in the charger base at all times. It has a low memory so most people find leaving it in the charger all the times has the best results.

If you use it two times a day you should get about 4 months out of it. But no longer than five months and if it smells or is getting gross I would change it. But wash your brushes often and make sure they are dry or they get moldy

I would say every couple months. But it's kind of like a toothbrush, you will notice the difference in the brush.

I cleanse my face with a cleansing towelette, then I use my Clarisonic Mia for further cleansing. This way I am not putting so much stress and use on the brush heads. Mine came with 2 heads, so I change them evry other week. They will last longer this way.
Gotta go, it's my MIA time.

Yes, that is the most popular place to use our sonic cleansing systems. If you use the Opal however, it is not waterproof.

Question
What is the benefit to the higher speeds on the Classic & Plus?
I'm inclined to purchase the Mia - opposed to the Classic or the Plus - because of limited space in my bathroom. However, I'd like to know the benefit of the additional speeds on the Classic & Plus. Would the higher speeds do ok with sensitive skin?

Well, there isn't that much of a difference on size wise, so the space shouldnt be an issue. I have the plus and the mia. I use the plus for home and i take the mia to go. The benifits of the mia are that it's really easy to take with you. The benifits of the plus is that it goes a lot deeper than the mia, therefor, cleans more intensly. Also, I don't think the fact of you having sensitive skin should matter, because of the different speeds and the different brushes it offers. I hope this helped!

Whichever you decide, the brushhead for sensitive skin is not rough at all. It is so soft I would use it on a child.

Question
Bacteria growth on brush?
Is there something you can purchase to prevent bacteria growth on the brush? You don't want to spread infection from one problem area in your face to another and you can't feasibly use a new brush every few days... Is there cleanser or some sort of UV device (something similar to electric toothbrush head cleaning devices) that can be purchased to ensure the brush head is clean?

That's the only thing preventing me from purchasing one - I had a dermotologist who recommended I stop using a facial brush when I was a teen for similar concerns.

Hi there, We recommended not putting the cap on the brush after use unless traveling. To prevent bacteria growth wash your brush head at least once a week with anti-bacterial soap and warm water. If you have existing bacteria or grime on the brush, use one a part bleach and one part water solution to soak the brush for a few minutes. Thanks!

Hi Sheryl!
ABSOLUTELY! The Mia would be perfect for you! Just use the "sensitive brush" to start with! I use it with Philosophy's Purity and my skin does NOT feel "tight or dry" all day and night! Your moisturizer will even work beter because the Mia will gently remove all the dry skin flakes! Hope this advice helps you make the right decision to invest in this product! I know its the BEST infestment on skincare I EVER made!

Yes, Clarisonic developed the sonic technology proven to gently yet effectively loosen dirt and oil to clear your pores. The Sonic Skin Cleansing System uses more than 300 movements per second to clean, soften and smooth your skin. The micro-massage action cleans more than twice as effectively as manual cleansing.

Question
Is the Mia a good alternative to scrubs & exfoliators?
I've always had difficulty finding a good exfoliator for my face. They don't do anything noticeably good or bad for my skin. It's as if they don't do anything for my skin. Would the Clarisonic make a good exfoliator for the face? P.S. I don't have one as of right now, but am interested.

I've tried dozens of facial scrubs over the course of the last 4 months in an effort to combat a sudden outbreak of blackheads and NONE of them have worked as well as the Clarisonic Mia and my usual, gentle cleanser. It's as though the Mia vibrates the schmutz right out of the pores. The Clarisonic is gentle yet effective at loosening debris, including dead skin cells. I have noticed a greater brightness to my skin with much less redness as well as smaller pores and far fewer pimples and blackheads. For me, the Mia has done more exfoliating than any scrub I have ever tried. I recommend you go for it!

I have the Mia, am an esthetician, and have had the same problem as you. I find that using an exfoliator with my Clarisonic has the best result. If you've tried what are supposed to be great exfoliators/scrubs and they did nothing, try them again using this. I use philosophy's microdelivery wash religiously, but have used all sorts of brands, from inexpensive drug-store brands to expensive, specialty brands, and they all work better with the Clarisonic.

Essentially, you're going to see better results because the sonic "pulsing" is opening up your pores, not only helping to rid your skin of the debris that constantly builds up, preventing great exfoliators from really working how they should, but by also letting products get into your skin and work the way they were intended.

I hope you give the Mia a shot...you won't be disappointed.

Some recommendations:
philosophy's microdelivery wash (once a day)
Origin's Modern Friction (once a week)
anything Clean & Clear or Neutrogena, depending on what your skin needs are

For reference: I have oily, sensitive skin

The Sonic Skin Cleansing System uses more than 300 movements per second to clean, soften and smooth your skin. The micro-massage action cleans more than twice as effectively as manual cleansing. We do not compare it to microdermabrasion but the cleansing of the skin is similar when used regularly.
